there wasn’t very much interest.
I think now on the contrary in the ’90s there’s
something happening, which is once again a feeling
that there is big change ahead, and that our only
defence against this big change is to try and
understand it—which was what McLuhan was
always trying to say. So although McLuhan really
didn’t have that much to say about computers—he
didn’t like them, I don’t think—he was much more
interested in broadcast media.
